At Zuckerberg San Francisco General, patients get great care for them and their families, and in cases of emergency or trauma, a new state-of-the-art trauma center and expert surgeons and emergency teams are combining to save lives.
In 2017 Dr. Peggy Knudson was recognized for her emergency intervention, surgery, and recovery care of 6-year old Zachery Vines. On September 30, 2016 Zachery was rushed to the ZSFG trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Dr. Knudson quickly assessed his dire condition and immediately had him prepared for surgery. Her quick thinking and expert surgical skills saved Zachery’s life and he has now fully recovered and is back in kindergarten.
